TECHNOLOGY
In order to maintain the standards we set for ourselves in Cosmetic Dentistry Melbourne, it's imperative that appropriate technology is at hand. It's for this reason that, as technologies advance, so too does the way Lentini Dental operates.
From the most routine dental procedure like fillings or bonding to the more complicated procedures like dental implant surgery the latest technology is being utilised. For Porcelain Veneers, Titanium Dental Implants and Orthodontics in Melbourne, advanced technological equipment is in place. Because technological advances improve not only the efficiency and accuracy of modern dentistry, but also the patient experience, we thought you should understand how.
Outlined below is a list of the technology we use on a daily basis, and how it can be used to improve your smile.
Digital X-Rays
The Digital X-Ray machines we use allow both Intra-Oral and Extra-Oral examinations of the teeth and mouth with as little as 10% of the radiation exposure of conventional X-ray film.
Intra-Oral X-Rays provide an instantaneous, high-resolution view of the teeth. For Extra-Oral X-Ray requirements, the Digital Panoramic X-Ray Machine provides exceptional panoramic image quality. By utilising both forms of Digital X-Ray, Lentini Dental is able to handle all X-Ray requirements without the need to outsource, and keeping the image on our computers for ultimate zoom in capability for high detail examination.
3D imaging using Dental C.T Technology

Computerised Tomography (C.T.) is accepted as the State of the Art imaging required for complete visualisation of all structures in a full 3 dimensional format.
This is especially important for Implant surgery and Full mouth rehabilitation cases as Performed at Lentini Dental. We have our own Dental C.T. machine for access to the most up to date information.

Diagnodent (Laser Diagnostic probe)
The Diagnodent Laser is used as a diagnostic instrument to detect tooth decay in notoriously difficult to examine areas in teeth. Studies have shown up to 92% accuracy in early detection lesions where conventional examination is only 49% accurate. Providing a digital read out, the Laser Diagnostic Probe ultimately removes the guesswork that can sometimes be associated with the evaluation of very early tooth decay.
Intra-Oral Camera (Live Viewing)
The Intra-Oral Camera that Lentini Dental uses allows both dentist and patient a live view of the inside of the mouth. Ideal for detecting and examining cracks and chips under high magnification, the Intra-Oral Camera affords patients a privileged view of the dental problems they have and the work that is required enabling the patient to understand the need for recommended treatment.
Cerec (Cad Cam dentistry)
Cerec Restorations are a digital way of creating restorations which would normally be hand-made by a laboratory technician after taking rubber moulds. Ceramic restorations provide patients with highly-aesthetic tooth-coloured inlays, crowns and veneers in a single appointment. Because ceramic is such a strong, resilient material, it is the ultimate choice for cosmetic restorations among dentists.

Soft Tissue Laser
We have a soft tissue/diode laser which is used to sculpt the gum contour prior to cosmetic dentistry and create symmetrical soft tissue outlines to better frame the smile. This laser can also be used to remove the frenum (the soft tissue web to the top lip or tongue tie) with little or no bleeding, no cutting with scalpels, and no sutures.
